A few weeks back I was feeling naughty and just wanted to buy some new make up (despite never needing anything new!). So I bought two items I had contemplated purchasing before...plus my sister had some good 'bonus' discount codes so it felt like a sign saying 'buy me buy me!'
Anyway the first is a Dior Lip Glow. I posted about a similar product a while back that looked awesome and I'd never bothered trying. Well this beauty seemed worth the buy if only for the cute packaging, and on Strawberry net it was at least $15 cheaper than in stores.
Its feels quite hydrating and almost has a bit of a 'zingy' feeling on your lips when you first put it on. I can imagine this will be good for the cooler months ahead. I am a faithful Kiehls #1 Lip Balm user, but this will be a nice non potted option.
The second item was a Chanel rouge allure lip glass in emoi which is a really pigmented pinky red colour. Its not quite a dark red, but it can be built up to that level if desired. I was lazy so didn't take any other pics, but this packaging must be the international/old packaging because when you buy it in Sydney stores its clear. I much prefer the elegant black barrel :)
Now I've decided my next make up purchase cannot be until the second half of the year because I have a holiday to save for! I can buy skincare, but no make up as I have tonnes of it already that I don't even use.

Chanel Little Black Jacket
I know I'm really late with posting about this but I went to Chanel's Little Black Jacket exhibition a few weeks back and it was AMAZING. I loved the ambience of the space - I love that empty warehouse feeling, I would love to have an event in that kind of space. The photos were of course also exquisite and just go to show how much of a genius Karl Lagerfeld really is.
For those not in the know, the exhibition showcases a whole lot of celebrities all photographed in incarnations of the famous Chanel Black Boucle jacket. Of course they're all impeccably and uniquely styled (Carine Roitfeld was involved, after all!) and most are also black and white.
Yay the flags herald the exhibition!
Beautiful day, beautiful view. I heart Sydney!
Probably the two most famous images from the exhibition were hung out the front as giant banners. Excuse the crappiness of the next few shots - I was in a rush!
Anna Wintour, totally identifiable even from the back of her perfectly coitured hair.
And Carine herself bearing a striking resemblance to Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel, of course.
There were 'no photos' allowed inside but I did manage a few sneakies with my phone...
One of the best photos in the exhibition was of this amazingly cute girl - Scarlett Utzmann Huynh - daughter of Carine's assistant. Isn't she just adorable?
I also came across this video showing a 'behind the scenes':
The video above is from the Chanel video channel on Youtube and there are actually a tonne of amazing videos relating to LBJ exhibition. Check it out!

Chanel 'Paris-Bombay'
I know I'm a little late to post about this but the recently shown Chanel Paris-Bombay collection is extravagant, beautiful and just absolutely divine.
Only the master Mr Lagerfeld himself could concoct a collection so clearly inspired by India yet being wearable and unique at the same time. Perfection!
So much of producing a fashion show isn't the clothes itself, but the aura, backdrop and all the small details which come together. I love that Chanel does this season after season and this was no exception. The dinner table idea is awesome, and I love the detail that went into all the table settings and food. I do hope someone at least got to eat all of the food otherwise what a waste!
Some cool looks from the show...

Even flats can be stylish if they're Chanel!
Any Aussies recognise the last face? It's Shanina Shaik from Make Me A Supermodel all those years ago! She was always my favourite and it's good to see that she's made it to the big smoke, some 5 years on. I suppose it helps that she's dating Tyson Beckford? She just walked for Victoria's Secret too!

Christmas Wishlist
I'm still on the lookout for a perfect everyday black handbag and so that is top of my Christmas Wishlist at the moment.
I know what I really want is a Chanel Diamond Stitch Tote, but they're hard to find nowadays. It's the perfect tote size that still fits all the everyday essentials I have (water, notebook).
A few months back I posted about the Miu Miu bag that I liked but I since decided to keep on finding something even more perfect (i.e. with a zip top). For the price of the Miu Miu, I knew I could spend just a little more to get a similar Chanel but alas they have nothing at the moment. So disappointing, right?
There is this Miu Miu Nappa Cloquet Bauletto which is part of the new Cruise collection - it's a new Cloquet collection leather which is really lightweight. I just like the shape and size, but it doesn't look as good in the picture as it does in real life. It's still not perfect, but getting there.
Any other ideas peeps?
